The Center for Internet Security (CIS) publishes a prescriptive, prioritized, and simplified set of best practices that organizations can use to strengthen their cybersecurity posture, the CIS Critical Security Controls (external link). These controls map to the NIST Cybersecurity Framework's six functions—Identify, Protect, Detect, Respond, Recover, Govern—that are central to all cybersecurity practice. The CIS Critical Security Controls help simplify cybersecurity protection and can serve as an onramp to state, federal, or industry-required cybersecurity frameworks.
In Coalition Control’s security checklist area, you can access and fill out a CIS controls checklist.
